This is us in Innsbruck! We had a kickoff meeting where we discussed aging, senescence and much more!

Left to right: Markus Schosserer, Corina Madreiter-Sokolowski, Teresa Kaserer, and Pidder Jansen-Dürr.

Principal Investigators

  • Pidder Jansen-Dürr (SENIOPROM Coordinator) / Maria Amália Cavinato Nascimento

The Jansen-Dürr lab investigates the role of mitochondrial function and dysfunction in aging processes and cellular senescence, with a particular interest in skin aging.

His group is also involved in identifying plant molecules with the potential to modify the senescence response, delay cellular senescence, and improve aging of the skin.

    More about them.

  • Corina Madreiter-Sokolowski

The Madreiter-Sokolowski lab investigates mitochondrial function in cellular aging models and Caenorhabditis elegans. The group has a strong focus on the role of mitochondrial metabolism, calcium handling, and ROS homeostasis in age-related diseases.

More about her and her work.

  • Teresa Kaserer

The Kaserer lab has a strong interest in computer-aided drug design at all stages of drug discovery. Besides small molecule drug discovery, the group develops computational workflows to investigate and predict clinically relevant mutations conferring resistance to targeted cancer drugs and designs novel proteins for gene therapy approaches.

More about her and her work.

  • Markus Schosserer

Main Areas of Research: Biology of aging, RNA modifications, cellular senescence, senolytics, (specialized) ribosomes, Raman microspectroscopy, C. elegans, mouse models, animal cell culture.
